My thoughts on Telltale's The Walking Dead

The first season won many game of the year awards including ours. This is because it had such a good and emotional story as well as something different for a zombie game. Season 2 is just as good as season 1 so far, but it may not win as many awards. I believe this because it simply isn't new anymore. Before I go on I want to say that I love this game. There are just improvements that need to be made. I love this game because of it's story not for the game itself. When playing telltale's The Walking Dead it's just like watching it on AMC. But it's a video game not a TV show! I want there to be some more control options. They could add some more puzzles and exploration to make up for this. In the recent episode there was a point where Clementine has to shoot the zombies coming after her. To do this you have to place the dot on the circle and press the shoot button. I wish you could shoot them all by yourself! This lack of actual gameplay is being seen much more in these first two episodes of season 2. In season one there were more puzzles and even a sneaking section. Why are they getting ride of these sections? They should be expanding on them. Episode 2 had a very good story as your group has to leave their home to run away from a evil governor type of character. This character is actually the father of the baby that one of your group members is about to have. They run onto this big house with electricity where you meet a old friend. Everything is happy until the evil guy attacks. I am retailing the story briefly for much more happens. There are some very intense scenes that have you on the edge of your seat. One thing I have found throughout playing is that choices don't really matter. Don't get me wrong, your choices do change how people look at you and who lives and dies. But it seems like the ultimate outcome is always the same. What if there were totally different stories based on your choices. This makes people replay the game many times. At the end of episode 1 you have to choose who to save. At the beginning of the second episode that choice doesn't matter because the ultimate outcome is the same no matter what you choose. So, for Telltale's The Walking Dead I would like to see more gameplay options and different branches of story that forms off of your choices. This is a really good game series but it feels more like a TV show, but that may be their main goal after all.

What do you think about this game? What would you change, or is the game fine how it is?
