Playstation 4 Announced!!! All the detials here:

It is coming holiday 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The controler:

The hardware:

Development of Sony’s PlayStation 4 started five years ago. The publishers wanted system to be powerful, but also wanted to evolve the systems UI as well to allow users to navigate their content more easily.
What are the detailed specs? During Sony’s PS4 reveal event, lead system architect Mark Cerny took the stage to talk about the new consoles hardware. According to Cerny, the PS4 features a supercharged PC architecture with a x86 architecture CPU, an enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB of GDDR5 system memory as well as a local hard drive. This all means that the PS4 can make nearly two teraflops of computations a second.
What does this really mean? It means that games look really good. We saw a demo of Epic’s new Unreal 4 engine, which looks far superior than any game running on today’s systems.
What are some of the cool features this hardware allows? The new PS4 controller features a low power button. If you hit that the system enters a low power mode and pauses the game. Hit the button again and you jump back into the action. Another cool features is that a secondary custom ship allows you to update games in the background, upload gameplay video of your game, or even start playing a downloaded game before its finished downloading.
This all sounds pretty great right now, and we can’t wait to see how some games will take advantage of this new hardware

Sony's Mark Cerny laid out some of the PlayStation 4's powerful sharing and game-downloading capabilities at Sony's New York even this afternoon. Simple video capture and sharing, a download system that lets you play while the system is still pulling down files, and predictive software that aims to show you games you might be interested in make PS4 a clear step forward for Sony.
Using the "share" button on the DualShock 4 controller, players can scroll back through recent gameplay -- captured via the PS4's hard-wired video encoding capabilities -- and select sections to tag and upload to the Internet. Presumably you'll be able to set them as private, public, or friends-only for viewing, but Cerny didn't go into that level of detail in his presentation.
Similarly to Blizzard's existing launchers for World of Warcraft and Diablo III, the PS4 will allow you to fire up games before you're done downloading them. You'll still have to grab a certain amount of your digitally purchased title or demo before playing, but the experience should be much smoother than on PS3.
Sony's goal is to use its prediction software to study your gaming habits and seed your console with downloads it thinks you might like for a truly instant play experience. In addition, the company should be able to use its predictive data to serve players personalized news and content.
As rumored, PS4 owners will also be able to access chat and other services via their smartphones, tablets, and Web browsers as well. Cerny didn't provide any further details, but coming up with more ways to integrate those devices into the next-gen PlayStation experience isn't difficult.

The benefits include instantly playing demos of games without downloading anything, spectating any friends’ game, and remotely taking over control for them.Perry’s description of instantly playing game demos sounds similar to Netflix’s streaming services or OnLive's streaming game service. Gaikai’s network promises to be "the fastest in the world," allowing any PS4 user to virtually look over their friend's shoulder while online. If you’re playing a game and having a tough time with a boss while your friend spectates, they’ll even be able to control your game to help you through. Cerny also suggests developers will allow spectating players to act as a sort of dungeon master, adding things like potions into a game world.

  1. I hope that this times its price point doesn't go above $300 or $400. This is another reason that the xbox was able to take the lead for so long,it was cheaper than the PS3. This is why the Wii took over almost everyone house because it was cheaper than the rest. As a working dad, when my kid said "daddy I want this game system or the other I ask him how much and he said it only $299 plus I have to spend another$100 on a game and a memory card, yes I'm talking about the PS vita, I told him that it would have to drop way down or he has to wait until Christmas to get his only gift.Than he said but dad its only money! So to teach him a lesson about its only money I made him go and get a job and lets see its only money! He been working for a month now and so far I see on PS vita,he got mad because they took 1/4 of his pay for taxes plus I made him pay rent and pay for gas and auto insurance,Now he want to quit and I said no because he better get used to working his ass off and have nothing to show for it.. I had a bad day when he said "its only money"!!

    1. Dude they are just kids. I think its a good idea to make kids work for stuff after a certain age after 12 years old. Remember the law which was made to stop children from working bad place like coal mines or oil company etc but they made it where a kid can't even have a grass cutting service like I did when I was 13 years old.

  3. It needs a Uncharted game and a God of War to be released the same time the game system is. Plus a COD game would be nice, a skyrim game and a fall out too!!!
